Art in the High Desert begins Friday, August 23! Come and see me at booth #61 where I will be from 10am – 6pm Friday and Saturday and 10am – 4pm on Sunday.
Art in the High Desert is a nationally juried show of artists and craftspeople held annually on the banks of the Deschutes River in Bend, OR. This year over 600 artists applied to be in the show and only 120 were selected, making it highly competitive. I am honored to be included in this prestigious show for the first time. I’ll look forward to seeing everyone and sharing my paintings and processes.
I recently completed a large commission for collectors who had purchased a painting from me 10 years ago. They wanted 2 paintings – one for over their bed and one for their living room. They were 2ft. x 5ft. and 4ft x 6ft. respectively. The paintings were larger than any I had ever done and took me 2 months to complete. Below are the finished pieces.
The days are long and it’s almost the summer solstice. Don’t forget my open studio event is this Saturday. Originally scheduled to be both Saturday and Sunday, we changed it to Saturday only, but with extended hours! So come on out for art, music, food and fun.
Visit my new studio space! Moving to a larger, light-filled work space at Bright Place Gallery allows more exhibition space for me and for our community of artists at Bright Place Gallery. Join me on June 16th and 17th to see my new studio as well as new work. I’ve been working on a series of paintings inspired by a visit to Joshua Tree National Park.
When: Saturday, June 16th 10 am – 5pm and Sunday, June 17th 11am – 4pm
Where: Bright Place Gallery, 909 SE Armour, Bend, Or.
